The Yale Office for Graduate Student Development and Diversity (OGSDD), formerly the Office for Diversity and Equal Opportunity (ODEO), was established under the premise that by expanding the diversity within the student body, the intellectual experience and understanding of the entire scholarly community would be enhanced. The OGSDD operates collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and student organization to proactively recruit, retain, and graduate students from diverse racial, ethnic, religious, socio-economic, political, cultural, and lifestyle backgrounds. The OGSDD provides support and resources in the form of educational programming, social events, and professional development to all graduate and professional school students in an attempt to foster a sense of understanding and respect among all students while simultaneously creating a more diverse and inclusive campus community.
